NEWS RELEASE TREE TRUST
Tree Trust, a program of the Elora Environment Centre working to sustain mature trees, is delighted to introduce Braedon Witt as our Program Manager. With experience in community-based tree initiatives and wildlife education, Braedon’s appointment marks a significant stride in advancing our mission.
In his previous position as an Urban Forest Researcher, Braedon played a pivotal role in conducting a comprehensive tree inventory for the Town of the Blue Mountains. Furthermore, in his position as a Wildlife Educator, he provided a positive learning environment for citizens to engage with often underappreciated species.
Braedon’s academic journey includes a Master’s in Forest Conservation from the University of Toronto, where he received the 2023 T.W. Dwight Prize for academic excellence. This award recognized his outstanding performance during the program’s international field course.
Tree Trust, a grassroots organization, is pushing our mission of tree protection to a new level, with a focus on improving the effectiveness of our programs and the viability of each of our seven chapters.
“I am thrilled to join the team at Tree Trust, which is making a meaningful contribution to tackling the climate crisis and tree education,” says Braedon.
Tree Trust anticipates that Braedon’s support will enhance the organization’s already productive collaboration with and support for the seven Tree Trust chapters, assisting with their local programming.
Braedon can be reached at programs@treetrust.ca for any questions or suggestions regarding Tree Trust programming.
