WELLINGTON COUNTY – As a participant in the 2024 Rural Ontario Municipal Association (ROMA) Conference in Toronto last week, Wellington County Warden Andy Lennox is continuing to shine a light on the issue of homelessness.
Lennox says the problem is an “acute” and complex one.
To deal with it? That’s a task Lennox mentioned he knows is tall.
While he added the problem is a provincial issue, Lennox expressed his pride in what has been accomplished locally to work towards solutions.
With an eye to the future, he says projects already underway are only the beginning.
Up next is a health and housing symposium in Guelph this week that Lennox stated will carry the momentum of conversations had at ROMA into more important interactions between staff.
The symposium will take place Tuesday and Wednesday in Guelph.
Lennox added he wants to ensure residents know staff are giving this issue due effort and are “on the case.”
