ELORA – A chance to experience art differently is kicking off at the Elora Centre for the Arts.
‘Journey to the Metaverse’ is a fusion of 3-D visuals and the beat of music, synched together to create an immersive display.
Executive director of the arts centre Lianne Carter says Fergus’ Gord Harris had the idea pre-pandemic, but the time away has given him more time to create something special.
The virtual reality presentation equips visitors with 3-D Bluetooth sunglasses and showcases the movements of objects on a wall in time with music.
Science, technology, engineering, the arts and math all blend together for an exhibition Carter says is “fascinating.”
Carter added having this type of display local is a great chance to showcase something not easily found in the region.
The exhibit opens Thursday with an official opening reception set for February 3rd.
‘Journey to the Metaverse’ runs until March 17th, and will be open each week Wednesday – Saturday 10AM – 4PM and Sunday 12-4. Admission is free.
The exhibition will also be highlighted by a one-night-only event with composed live music on Saturday, February 24th at 7 p.m.
