CENTRE WELLINGTON – A new documentary tells the story of Centre Wellington’s Addison “Addy” Hill, who passed away in July of 2022.
The documentary on Addy from the Ontario Basketball Association details Hill’s fight with Angiosarcoma, a rare and aggressive form of cancer.
Throughout the whole journey, and the many challenges that came her way, Addy’s mom Jessica says her daughter never gave up, and used basketball as an outlet.
Jessica Hill went on to say Addy’s sister wasn’t alone in her admiration of the 14-year-old’s never give up mentality.
“She was the life of the party. Every single doctor when they were like ‘oh let’s go to Addy’s room,’ they just knew exactly who she was with how she was acting and how bright her personality was,” said Alyssa Hill in the film.
Jessica said the doc came to be when the size and magnitude of a family fun day fundraiser for Addy drew the attention of the Ontario Basketball Association.
She went on to say the community played a huge role during tumultuous times for the Hill family, and added doctors like Addy’s count on the support of fundraising dollars.
