ERIN – Nominations are now open for the Town of Erin Shamrock Awards.
The annual awards honour individuals, organizations and businesses, who have made a significant contribution to the community during a calendar year.
The township says nominees do not need to be residents of Erin, but their contributions must be to the betterment of the Town of Erin community.
The seven award categories include:
- Community Volunteer Award: This award is presented to five individuals who have contributed to the betterment of our community, through their volunteerism.
- Citizen of the Year Award: This award recognizes one individual who has positively influenced the Town of Erin community, through their volunteerism.
- Innovation Award: This award recognizes any individual, group, organization, or business for their excellence in innovative solutions and their contributions to helping shape our future.
- Business of the Year Award: This award is presented to a business that has had a positive impact on the Town of Erin community.
- Agriculture / Agri-Business Award: This award recognizes any individual, group, organization, or business where the business strives to stand out from others, has a progressive approach or ha overcome significant challenges in agriculture or agri-business.
- Environment Award: This award recognizes actions, projects, initiatives, education, stewardship or art that contributes to environmental sustainability in the town of Erin. The winner will be selected by the Town of Erin Environment and Sustainability Advisory Committee.
- Youth Award: This award is presented to a youth under the age of 18 who has made significant contributions to the community and/or demonstrated community spirit through outreach or other significant community enrichment activities.
Nominations are open until February 29th.
