GUELPH – A Guelph woman who called police for help and then lied about her identity to hide that she was wanted was arrested Thursday afternoon.
Just after 1pm, police were called to the VIA Rail station in downtown Guelph after a woman claimed another person was refusing to return her belongings.
Officers spoke to the caller, who provided a false name and date of birth.
Investigation revealed her true identity and it was determined she was wanted by police in another jurisdiction.
A 48-year-old Guelph woman was arrested on the outstanding warrant and also charged with obstructing a police officer.
