ERIN – The Town of Erin is advising residents that due to site accessibility conflicts with other nearby construction projects, the Lions Club Park in Erin Village will be closed to the public.
A full notice states the town is constructing a sewage pumping station in the park as part of the council-approved Erin Wastewater Servicing Project.
Construction has begun and the contractor is preparing the site.
The notice goes on to say the construction of the sewage pumping station will require the use of the entire Lions’ Club Park property, and that playground equipment will be temporarily removed.
This will result in the removal of an additional five trees and the installation of a temporary construction access road across the park from Lions’ Park Avenue to the sewage pumping station site on the north end of the park.
When the sewage pumping station construction is complete, the temporary construction access road will be removed, the playground equipment will be re-instated in its original location, a new pavilion will be built and the monuments re-instated at the south end of the park.
All trees and shrubs are planned to be replaced as well.
The anticipated completion of this work is fall of 2025.
