It’s a loaded dance-card for local puck this long weekend! Between the Fergus Whalers and Elora Rocks, five games are on the schedule:
Whalers Triple Dip in Coming Days
It’s a packed weekend for the Fergus Whalers, who will hit the road for a pair of games and also do battle in the friendly confines of the Centre Wellington Sportsplex.
The Whalers kick off their weekend schedule with a trip to the North Huron Wescast Community Centre, where they’ll take on the Wingham Ironmen at 8 p.m. The two teams are neck-and-neck in the standings, with the Whalers holding a one-point edge.
Fergus will return home on Sunday for a tilt with the Walkerton Capitals, before polishing off the weekend in Mitchell where they’ll do battle with the Hawks on Family Day Monday.
The matinee start-time on Sunday is 3 p.m. in Fergus. The road clash in Mitchell will begin at 2 p.m.
Rocks Play a Pair
It’s a big weekend for the Elora Rocks, who have a pair of games in front of them.
First up for the Rocks, Woodstock will be in town this evening for an 8:30 p.m. contest at the Jefferson Elora Community Centre.
Both teams look to return to their winning ways, as the Rocks look to get back in the win column and the Lakers hope to snap a two-game skid.
The Rocks took the only matchup so far this season by a 6-3 margin. The action gets going at 8:30 p.m.
Saturday Elora hopes to have luck on their side when they tangle with the Irish in Stratford. That game will kick off at 3:30 p.m.
