WELLINGTON NORTH – Wellington North has released its 2023 Year in Review.
The township is sharing the achievements that marked the first full year of the current Council Term in 2023.
Some of the highlights of projects and initiatives that were completed in 2023, include:
- 400+ community members attended our two Volunteer & Newcomer Celebrations
- 500+ spaces offered through our Summer Day Camp program (Mount Forest and Arthur)
- Rehabilitation of the Mount Forest Standpipe (water tower)
- Reconstruction of Domville Street (Phase 2) and Preston Street North
- Wellington North Culture Days were held from Sep. 23 to Oct. 16
- Wellington North Famers’ Market celebrated its 11th year
- Various upgrades at both the Mount Forest & District Sportsplex and Arthur & Area Community Centre
“I would like to congratulate staff and all of our partners for their tremendous efforts to deliver the important services that make Wellington North a wonderful community to be a part of. As a Council, we look forward to working towards the priorities identified as part of our new Strategic Plan” said Mayor Andy Lennox in a news release.
In October 2023, Council approved the 2024 Strategic Plan, which through extensive consultation between Council, community, and Township staff, identified the primary goal of the Township: building a safe, sustainable, and welcoming community.
The township says the 2023 Year in Review was developed to share some of the activities that have taken place in the last year, as well as to increase the level of accountability and transparency with the public.
