CENTRE WELLINGTON – Five bridges previously recommended for a study in Centre Wellington will be back before council at a meeting on Monday.
All five of the structures examined in this study are located within the former Township of Pilkington within a twenty square kilometre area.
With the study complete, staff have recommended a preferred alternative of what to do with the structures.
Staff say public engagement proved residents feel a lack of connection east to west, and have been presented with traffic concerns due to the closures.
Taking all this into consideration, staff are recommending the preferred alternative is to replace Bridges 32-P and 33-P on Noah Road and Bridge 28-P on Sideroad 11, and to remove and permanently close Bridge 1-P on Sideroad 5 and Bridge 30-P on Sideroad 5 West.
The preferred alternative will be before council at the 6 p.m. meeting Monday.
