Both local hockey teams are in the playoffs, and this weekend includes a jam-packed slate for both the Fergus Whalers and Elora Rocks.
Fergus to Face Familiar Foe in Games 2, 3
It’s gameday for the Fergus Whalers as part of a two-contest weekend in the PJHL playoffs!
Fergus holds a 1-0 series lead as they head to Walkerton for Game 2 of the best-of-seven tonight against the Capitals.
Puck drop from the Walkerton Community Centre is at 7:30 p.m.
On Sunday the action comes local to the Centre Wellington Sportsplex for Game 3. The Whalers will be honouring their overage players prior to puck drop.
Make sure to get there early, as the first 100 fans through the doors will receive a Whalers rally towel.
The team encourages fans to come out and enjoy the action, as the series begins to heat up. Puck drop Sunday in Fergus will be 3 p.m.
Time to Rock: Elora Set to Kick Off Series vs. Fighting Irish
The Elora Rocks are playoff-bound and kicking off play this evening!
The action begins at home for Elora, when they take on the Stratford Fighting Irish in Game 1 of their first-round series.
Puck drop from the Jefferson Elora Community Centre is set for 8:30 p.m.
The Irish enter action red-hot, on a five-game winning streak.
The series travels to Stratford for a matinee Game 2 on Saturday. That contest is set to begin at 3:45 p.m.
The two teams split their pair of matchups this season.
