MOUNT FOREST – A new timeline to head before the Mount Forest Aquatics Advisory Committee provides an updated projection for fundraising and the potential opening of the new pool in Mount Forest.
Ultimately, the opening date for the new recreational site has been pushed back to some time in 2027.
Council is set to confirm the taxpayer financial contribution for 2025 and future capital budgets in the winter of this year. Construction, meanwhile would get going in 2026.
At an October meeting, it was approved that once 80 per cent of fundraising for a goal of $2.5 million was met, the committee would direct staff to instruct the architect to complete design specifics.
The committee now estimates that will occur in fall of this year.
