FERGUS – Students at Centre Wellington District High School have won the 2024 NTS (National Theatre School) Drama Festival.
Students competed last Friday at St. Benedict’s Catholic High School in Cambridge.
On Friday, Ailish O’Donnell won the adjudicator’s Award of Excellence for Playwriting, Directing, and producing the show “Jump Station,” and Stage Manager Milica won the Stage Manager’s Award of Excellence.
Jenny Ritter a teacher at CWDHS, says “We are super proud of this group! As you can see, the students are pretty thrilled”.
Ritter says they now move on to represent the district at the Regional Festival in Gravenhurst the week of April 10th.
John F. Ross will also be competing.
Ritter points out that only two shows were selected to move on from Waterloo/Wellington “so it was so cool that both shows were picked from Upper Grand.”
