ELORA – Friday, March 8th marks International Women’s Day.
Marking the day locally will be an “open conversation” between Katie Giddy, VP of the Grandway Events Centre, and her best friend Sally Litchfield emceeing.
Giddy, who has recently battled cancer, says the journey was aided by many women who made an incredible impact on her.
Giddy went on to say big journeys aren’t often done as quickly as people think. She says the event will focus in on many of those women and individuals who helped her through the process, and looking at how crucial these people are to her and many other women.
Even on the darkest of days, Giddy says, having fun and positive energy can bring us to a positive place.
We are the sum of all parts, Giddy added.
She also mentioned women going through many changes in their lives need to be thankful for the person they’ve become through change.
Giddy says the event and the day on the whole are very much about community and comradery.
It will get going at the Grandway at 11:30 and run until 1:30 p.m.
