WELLINGTON NORTH – A growth management action plan is heading before council in Wellington North on Monday.
This report tracks local trends and estimates the current population to be 13,800. The presentation reveals the average age of township residents to be 42 years old as of 2021.
It also says in 2021 74 per cent of housing in the township was owner occupied, as opposed to renter-occupied.
Consultant Watson & Associates says there is the potential for an additional housing supply of 296 units in Arthur, and 257 in Mount Forest.
Next steps for council according to the consultant include crafting a growth vision that identifies key growth principles and priorities for the township in planning growth.
