WELLINGTON NORTH – A report to head before Wellington North council on Monday recommends council submit an application to the Ontario Trillium Foundation in hopes of grant money to repair local playgrounds.
At Conn Community Park, the main priorities are to add surfacing, reduce flooding and construct a play structure geared to those 5-12 years old.
It would include sensory components and accessible features.
The Lion Merv Weber playground would also look to address flooding concerns, and add two new play structures, one for the same age range and one for 0-5 years.
Staff would, pending council approval, apply for the full $200,000.
They estimate the project would cost $290,000.
If successful in their application, staff would include the project in the 2025 budget.
