MAPLETON – A celebration of life will be held on Wednesday for a much loved employee of a Drayton Grocery Store.
John Ford passed away suddenly but peacefully last week at the age of 64.
Ford was very well known in the community, with working at the Drayton Foodland for 36 years.
“John would greet all of the regular customers by name, his memory was remarkable and would wish everyone happy birthday or happy anniversary. He would reach so many more people than just in Drayton, he had more than 100 pen pals that are all over the world, these letters were all hand written,” Johns obituary read.
Many took to social media to pay tribute to John expressing their appreciation on the impact he had on individuals and the community.
The obituary for John says the family will receive friends at the Heritage Funeral Home, Drayton on Tuesday, April 2, 2024 from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m.
A Celebration will be held in the Drayton Arena Complex on Wednesday, April 3, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. followed by interment in Drayton Cemetery.
As expressions of sympathy donations to the Palmerston Hospital Foundation, MRI Fund would be appreciated by the family.
