FERGUS – The Fergus Grand Theatre is set to launch a bunch of new shows this upcoming season.
The launch was held on March 27th where attendees were shown many different upcoming events from the Elora Community Theater and Centre Wellington Children’s Drama Club.
The announced shows are part of the theaters 2024-2025 presentation season that is being called “presenting with purpose”.
The evening was also a night of celebration with the announcement of the Liz Pieper award winners from 2020- 2023 being given out for the first time in four years. The award is to honor long serving members of the preforming arts community in Centre Wellington.
Since its been four years four different staples in the community were awarded: Gerard Gouthro was recognized for his many years of writing and directing plays for the Centre Wellington Children’s Drama Club, David Tanner for the wide variety of skills he brings to shows with the Elora Community Theatre, FGT Volunteer Bill Longshaw for his work as the theatre’s unofficial archival photographer, and Rob Klein for his three decades of service to the theatre as an event technician.
The Presenting with purpose season is set to launch on September 28th with Ashara which will be a blend of Scottish folk music with Jamaican Reggie music.
More upcoming shows will include other shows include The Canadian Improv Showcase, Molly’s Comedy Cabaret, and rising country music sensation Callie McCullough, among others. The season concludes with Canadian folk icon Valdy.
