Wellington County OPP are investigating a collision near Drayton that claimed two lives.
The collision happened Sunday evening around 7:30 p.m. at the intersection of Twelfth Line and Sideroad 16 in Mapleton Township.
In a release, police say a black coupe, a silver minivan and a red pick-up truck hauling a trailer were involved.
The lone occupant of the coupe, an 18-year-old man from Mount Forest, and a passenger in the pick-up truck, a 44-year-old woman from Alma, were both pronounced dead at the scene. A 13-year-old passenger from the pick-up was airlifted to a trauma centre with life-threatening injuries. Three other people in the pick-up were taken to a local hospital with minor injuries. The three people in the minivan did not need medical attention.
Police say that the intersection was closed into the night while reconstruction crews work to determine what happened. The office of the Chief Coroner was notified and attended the scene.
