MINTO – The Town of Minto is partnering with the owners of the Teviotdale Truck Stop to install a heritage mural.
Treasurer Gordon Duff told council at Tuesday night’s meeting the idea for the mural came from a group of citizens interested in the history and heritage of the hamlet who wanted some kind of historical marker.
The group had already raised money for the project and needed somewhere to put it. Duff says the truck stop seemed like a good fit.
Council voted Tuesday to enter into an agreement with the truck stop to host the mural. Duff explained the agreement formalizes the arrangement.
The mural will consist of six photographs with accompanying stories. Duff estimates it should be put up in late May.
