GUELPH – A Guelph man is charged with impaired driving after burnt-out lights on his car attracted an officer’s attention.
Just after 10 p.m. Thursday, an officer was patrolling on Waterloo Avenue when he spotted a vehicle with a headlight and licence plate light both burnt out.
Police say a traffic stop was conducted and the officer could smell alcohol on the driver’s breath.
“After failing a roadside breath test the driver was transported to the police station, where further testing confirmed he had more than the legal amount of alcohol in his system,” police said in a news release.
A 33-year-old Guelph man is charged with impaired driving. His licence was immediately suspended for 90 days and his vehicle was impounded for seven days.
