ERIN – The Town of Erin is constructing a Sewage Pumping Station in Lions’ Club Park in Erin Village as part of the council-approved Erin Wastewater Servicing Project.
The work includes a backup power generator to be installed at the north-west corner of William St. and the Erin Town access road.
In a notice, the township says construction on this generator site has commenced this week with the drilling of two boreholes followed by site clearing and then the infrastructure work.
In February, the township announced it would be moving the playground equipment at Lions Club Park in Erin Village over to Carberry Park for the construction.
“Construction crews required additional space at Lions Club Park due to site accessibility conflicts during the installation of a pumping station in the corner of the lot. A number of trees, as well as the existing playground equipment needed to be removed from the property in order to allow more space for contractors working on the project,” an earlier news release stated.
The township says the generator site will be restored with new trees and vegetation.
Construction is anticipated to be completed in the Fall of 2025.
