MAPLETON – The Kinette Club of Drayton is partnering with the Township of Mapleton to install a new play structure in Drayton’s park, near the “B” ball diamond.
Kinette, Gina Dobben asked council on Tuesday for the remaining 50/50 funding from this year and an advance of next year’s funding — or just shy of $10,000.
She says they went with one of the more expensive options for new equipment because it was more substantial for only two thousand dollars$2,000 more.
“It is option one, which you will notice in 2023 cost approximately $20,675,” explained Dobben. “It’s a much better option than option two which is a slide that costs $18,000.”
Mapleton Council readily agreed to the funding request. The Kinettes will also add a swing set to the playground bringing the cost of the project to $30,000. They hope to replace the current dilapidated structure as soon as possible.
