Centre Wellington council gave its fire chief the authority to enter into agreements with the Grand River Conservation Authority to allow access to their properties to conduct training exercises.
Fire Chief Tom Mulvey told Centre Wellington Council Monday they are often involved in swift water and high water rescues and access to the Elora Gorge and Elora Quarry will allow them to be ready for an emergency.
The current agreement runs until the end the year. Going forward, the chief will have the authority to enter into the agreement without needing to go to council.
