GUELPH – Two teens face aggravated assault and other charges after a disturbance in Guelph which left a Rockwood teen with severe head injuries.
At around 2:30am Sunday, Guelph Police were called to the area of Burns Drive and Nicklin Road for reports of an injured male.
Investigation revealed several teens were involved in an altercation, during which one of them was struck in the head with a weapon.
Police say an 18-year-old Rockwood male was transported to Guelph General Hospital and later transferred to a Hamilton trauma centre.
“Weapons including a rifle, knife and collapsible baton were seized during the investigation,” police said in a news release.
Two Guelph males, aged 17 and 15, are charged with aggravated assault, assault with a weapon, possessing a weapon for a dangerous purpose, wearing a disguise while committing an offence and mischief under $5,000.
