ELORA – Centre Wellington Council approved a re-zoning request to allow for a four-storey apartment building to be built on East Mill Street in Elora.
The initial design of the building was not well received by the public so it was completely redesigned, lowing the height from five-storeys and “stepping back” the building so it creates the illusion it is a smaller building.
The lower level will be for commercial enterprises while the upper floors will be residential units. The heritage building on the site will be preserved and restored, possibly to become a restaurant in the future.
The site is now zoned to allow for commercial and residential use as opposed to exclusively residential.
