ELORA- Elora Public School has unveiled a motivational sign inspired by the spirit of Addison Hill (Addy), a former student who courageously battled cancer.
Some grade 8 students were recently asked to make a “pitch” about something they believed would make a positive impact on the school community.
In a post to social media, Team Addy says the students were “inspired by Addy’s incredible bravery, positivity, resilience, and amazing spirit throughout her cancer journey, and with the help of Made You Look Designs Elora these students held a bake sale to raise money to pay for this sign and were involved in creation process – helping to remind students to exemplify these qualities every day.”
“We are deeply moved and grateful for the beautiful tribute from Elora Public School, where Addy attended,” Team Addy said on social media. “Every time students walk into the school, they will be reminded to show their best “Addy-tude” being brave, positive, resilient, and amazing—just like Addy!”
In 2021, Addy was diagnosed with a rare form of cancer called angiosarcoma at just 13 years old, the Elora teen passed away in July 2022.
Team Addy thanked the grade 8 students and Elora Public School, for keeping Addy’s legacy alive and inspiring her peers in such a meaningful way.
