FERGUS – With a new school set to be built in Centre Wellington, the Upper Grand District School Board is inviting the public to fill out a survey.
In November 2021, the Board received Ministry funding to facilitate the construction of a new 308-pupil place (from Junior kindergarten to Grade 8) elementary school in Centre Wellington.
The Board had previously reserved an elementary school site in Phase 1 of the Storybrook subdivision in northwest Fergus.
The new school in northwest Fergus is forecasted to open for the 2025/26 school year.
According to the UGDSB website, a boundary review process will be initiated in Fall 2024 to determine the assignment area for the New Centre Wellington Elementary School.
The board says all comments and feedback received during this process will be presented to Trustees in the Final Report for their consideration.
