ARTHUR – Case Verde is getting $1250 from Wellington North’s public art grant to expand its popular mural at its store in Arthur.
Wellington North council approved the grant as part of its Community Improvement Plan. The 2024 Economic Development Operating budget includes $35-thousand dollars for Community Improvement Program applications.
The mural on the garage door of the business was started by a local young artist and the owners are now in discussion to have her finish the work.
In their application for the grant, the business owners say the mural already brings people in to get selfies for Instagram and then explore their shop.
The owners are trying to make the location into a destination for visitors traveling north.
So far this year, council has approved just over $10,000 in Community Improvement Plan grant funding.
