Nominations are being accepted to honour people who have made a difference in the lives of people struggling with their mental health.
Cecilia Marie Roberts is the project lead for Here4Hope, a suicide prevention organization in Wellington County. She says The Neil Dunsmore Power of One Award commemorates Neil Dunsmore’s Steps to Stop the Silence, a 5,000 km walk from Centre Wellington to Ottawa in 2020.
You can nominate anyone who has made a difference for someone struggling with their mental health.
“Sometimes that just a family member who walked the road with someone and really was there on the journey of them getting the help and support they needed,” said Roberts. “Sometimes it could be a wonderful professional who was able to help someone understand perhaps some of the challenges that were leading them to a place where they were really struggling.”
Nominations will be accepted until August 16th. The 2024 Power of One Award will be announced on World Suicide Prevention Day September 10.
