MEDIA RELEASE GRAND RIVER CONSERVATION AUTHORITY
Forestry specialists from the Grand River Conservation Authority (GRCA) will lead a free farm tour to demonstrate how trees can add value and reduce costs for farming operations.
Registration is open now through Eventbrite for this free event – entitled Twilight Tour: Trees Working for your Farm – which will run at a New Hamburg-area farm from 6:30-8:30 p.m. on Thursday, Aug. 8.
Along with learning how trees can add value to farm land and help reduce operating costs, attendees will also learn tips on how to prune and maintain trees on their land.
The tour will last about two hours and participants will walk approximately 1.5-kilometres.
The Trees Working for your Farm event is tied closely to grants that are available through the Rural Water Quality Program, which is administered by the GRCA on behalf of municipalities located throughout the Grand River watershed.
