WELLINGTON COUNTY – The County of Wellington has been recognized by the Canadian Armed Forces (CAF) as a supporter of the With Glowing Hearts Programme.
The With Glowing Hearts Programme recognizes organizations that support the CAF with military leave policies and provide Reserve Force employees the flexibility to continue serving their community and Canada.
Reservists are part-time members of the CAF located across Canada. They balance civilian careers or education with military service. In times of need, reservists can serve with the military full-time for a defined period. Readiness to deploy is maintained through a series of courses and training activities.
The County is now part of the With Glowing Hearts Registrant Directory.
“On behalf of the County of Wellington, we are incredibly proud to support the Canadian Armed Forces by providing military-leave provisions for our employees that are reservists,” said Warden Andy Lennox. “The County strongly supports both the work of the Canadian Armed Forces and reservists as they balance civilian and military obligations.”
To date, the County is the only municipality in Ontario on the With Glowing Hearts Registrant Directory.
