The Town of Erin is rescoping the Erin Elora-Cataract Trail water and wastewater linear works from the larger project and retendering the linear trail portion of the work.
Director of Infrastructure and Town Engineer Brian Kavanagh said recent environmental requirements requested by Credit Valley Conservation necessitated that the trail work be rescoped TO INCLUDE A TYPE OF CULVERT THAT WAS NOT IN THE ORIGINAL PROJECT.
The Elora-Cataract Trail between Trafalgar Road in Hillsburgh and Main Street in Erin will remain closed to the public in preparation of laying water and wastewater pipes under the trail that will connect Hillsburgh to the existing municipal water system and the new wastewater treatment plant.
The town’s social media page claims trees that were removed for this project will be replaced. In all, approximately 20,000 trees will be planted back onto the trail and other properties within the town.
