WELLINGTON NORTH – Traffic lineups at a Tim Hortons in Mount Forest could be limited following a council vote that could restrict traffic flow in the area following concern from locals.
Wellington North council said it is now looking at additional feedback from residents on the updated designs for the John Street and Fergus Street North reconstruction projects in a survey that opens today.
At council meeting earlier this week, a new report on several modified designs was approved, and included restricted access to Tim Hortons to right-turn exits on John Street.
Mayor Andy Lennox said that option was a reasonable approach to the problem.
He says council also must be mindful that most of those costumers are residents of the area.
In a report on the project, staff said the design option is expected to only allow customers to exit the drive thru onto John Street in the northbound direction.
CAO, Brooke Lambert, says all the land owners in the area are stakeholders and both residents and business in the area have been consulted. She says the next step is to seek additional feedback.
The new survey is now open.
Also in the preferred option of council, is the reduction of tree removals along Fergus Street North.
