FERGUS – A fundraiser this weekend will see a local basketball team honour one of their own.
CW Celtics will be hosting a 24-Hour Shooting Marathon to honour a former Celtics player, Addison (Addy) Hill who in 2021 was diagnosed with a rare form of cancer called angiosarcoma at just 13 years old.
The Elora teen passed away in July 2022.
Addy’s Coach Andy Abra says the 24-Hour Shooting Marathon will see Addy’s teammates shoot non-stop for 24 hours to raise funds for a new basketball court in Centre Wellington named in her honor.
Maggie, one of Addy’s former teammates says it really means a lot to her to be participating in this event.
The event will take place from September 28th at 7am until September 29th at 7am where Addy’s Team will be shooting non-stop. This event will take place at the Move Training facility at 949 Glengarry Dr, Fergus.
