ELORA – The Elora Rocks are gearing up for a new hockey season tonight, hosting the reigning champions, the Tillsonburg Thunder, in their home opener at the Jefferson Elora Community Centre.
This season marks a new era for the Rocks, as they join the newly formed Ontario Super Hockey League (OSHL).
The merger announced last month, between the Western Ontario Super Hockey League and the Central Ontario Super Hockey League has created a 15-team league, divided into two divisions, offering semi-professional men’s hockey across Ontario.
To celebrate the new season, the Rocks will have a pre-game BBQ starting at 6:45 pm, also contests games, and DJ Spenny to kick things off.
Opening ceremonies and puck drop are scheduled for 8:30 pm.
Following the game, the Rocks will host an after-party.
