ELORA – A new grocery store proposed for Elora is one step closer to being a reality.
At a meeting earlier this week, Centre Wellington Council approved a proposed official plan amendment and zoning bylaw amendment to facilitate a commercial redevelopment consisting of 3 properties including the vacant parcels in Elora at 22 Park Road, a vacant parcel at 94 Wellington Road 7, and a small vacant portion of 82 Wellington Road 7 the site of the Gorge Country Kitchen restaurant.
The landowners have requested conversion from Industrial to Highway Commercial Uses.
Overall, planning staff had no objection to the approval of the applications, as they are consistent with the Provincial and County land use planning framework and policies.
Staff said the subject redevelopment site would provide a range of commercial uses along a highway commercial corridor with no anticipated negative land use impacts.
Council approved the applications.
