CENTRE WELLINGTON – Centre Wellington Fire Rescue has added a New Pumper to its fleet.
Pumper 41 operating out of the Fergus station is now in service and has replaced the old pumper that has served the township for nearly 20 years.
Deputy Fire Chief Jonathan Karn says the new pumper has some improved capabilities and safety features than the previous truck.
The truck was approved by Centre Wellington Council in February to be purchased from Dependable Emergency Vehicles in Brampton for $1.1 million.
As for the old Pumper 41, Karn says the department intends to keep it and rehabilitate the truck to provide training and reserve capacity.
