NEWS RELEASE WELLINGTON COUNTY OPP
(WELLINGTON NORTH TWP, ON) – Wellington County OPP charges Mount Forest resident with two Highway Traffic Act charges.
On October 9, 2024, just before 10:00 p.m., a member of the Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) was performing a traffic enforcement initiative and observed a motor vehicle travelling at a high rate of speed, to which a traffic stop was initiated.
As a result of the investigation, a 38-year-old from Mount Forest, was charged under the Highway Traffic Act with:
- Drive Motor Vehicle – Race a motor vehicle
- Speeding 50+Km/h over posted limit
Anyone charged with Drive Motor Vehicle – Race a motor vehicle receives a 14-day impoundment and a 30-day driver’s licence suspension as per statute.
The accused is scheduled to appear in the Provincial Offences Court – Guelph, at a later date.
