WELLINGTON COUNTY – Local not-for-profit organizations are being invited to apply for the county’s annual Community Grants Program.
The program provides eligible applicants up to $2,000 to assist with projects that benefit the community and enhance the quality of life for those who live here.
Wellington County Deputy Clerk, Nicole Cardow, says the program supports many initiatives, from cultural events and recreational activities to educational programming and social services.
Cardow says the applications have already started to come in.
Applicants must operate as a not-for-profit group, according to Cardow, with a formal structure, such as a Board of Directors. Additionally, the proposed project must deliver services or products that directly benefit residents.
She says applications are due by November 30 and recipients will be chosen in February or March.
Grants can help cover costs associated with project materials, operational expenses, and other necessary resources that contribute to the success of community-oriented efforts.
It is estimated that $85,300 will be available for the program this year.
