CENTRE WELLINGTON – After years of deliberations and discussions about how to handle the termite situation in Centre Wellington, council voted in favour of the Termite Management Subsidy Program at yesterday’s council meeting.
The approval means staff will be directed to immediately activate the program that will allow residents to apply for funding to deal with termites on their property in certain designated areas of the township.
Adam McNabb, Managing Director of Corporate Services & Treasurer, said homeowners will need to meet several requirements.
He said there are several key program elements.
The multi-year termite management program will have a limit of $1.39 million. Mayor Shawn Watters said awareness and education will be the key to ensuring this program’s success.
Once available, program information will be posted on the Township website and also CW Connect.
