CENTRE WELLINGTON – Centre Wellington’s draft budget proposes a 3.49% tax increase for 2025, which would add $50 to the average residential tax bill, based on an assessed home value of $393,972.
Looking at the residential tax bill breakdown, approximately 57% will go to Wellington County, 12% to education, and 31% to the township.
According to Centre Wellington’s 2025 draft budget book released on Friday, the key factors driving the tax rate increase include higher wages and benefits, increased tax increment equivalent grant spending, and expanded parking enforcement.
The budget also includes $48 million for capital expenditures, primarily for public works projects.
Budget deliberations are scheduled for December 3rd and 5th, with final approval expected on December 16th.
