ERIN – The logo debate in Erin has come to and end with council voting in favour of returning to the shamrock.
During yesterday’s council meeting, councillors decided to retain the shamrock following online pressure after a new design was presented in September.
Less then a month after the new logo was unveiled, town council directed staff to dispense with the new logo and assemble variations of the previously reviewed icons for the implementation of a possible new design.
Town CAO, Rob Adams, said they will be moving forward in a two-step plan.
Councillor Cathy Aylard said council needed to be crystal clear when it comes to communicating the plan, given the time and financial implications that was put into the now abandoned logo.
Adams said they will immediately go back to the Shamrock on things that can be quickly changed.
Social media was flooded with complaints regarding the logo that was presented in September, saying it looked like many other logos found in a variety of businesses and organizations.
