Just before 7pm Saturday, police were asked to assist the fire department at an apartment near Waterloo Avenue and Beechwood Avenue.
Police say a mattress fire had caused significant smoke damage to the unit and caused the temporary evacuation of a neighbouring unit while it was ventilated and underwent minor repairs.
