FERGUS – Provincial Champions of rugby were in the building at last night’s Centre Wellington council meeting.
The U-18 Highland Rugby Club recently captured the honour at a tournament in Barrie Ontario.
Team captain Ty Panylo, who was in attendance with fellow captain Landon Stafford, said following a special presentation from Mayor Shawn Watters, the weight of the accomplishment is hard to overstate.
Stafford and Panylo were backed by their coach Graeme Nelson, who had nothing but kind words and appreciation for his players.
The team ran the table on the cold day, going perfect on route to provincial glory.
