NEWS RELEASE UNIVERSITY OF GUELPH
The University of Guelph is closed on Thursday, Feb. 13 due to heavy snowfall.
All campus events have been cancelled today. Please reach out to event organizers directly with inquiries about rescheduling or restructuring of events.
Impact on Classes and Labs
All classes and labs (in-person and remote delivery) are cancelled for today. When the University reopens, instructors will have information on rescheduled tests and assignments.
Impact on Campus
Only those employees designated as essential workers per the Inclement weather/Emergency closing policy are expected to report to work on site.
Employees who are not designated as essential workers should – to the extent feasible – continue with or shift to remote work. Speak with your manager or supervisor about expectations during today’s closure.
All University buildings, labs and facilities are closed except for emergency services (Campus Safety Office and Fire Safety).
This closure extends to the following:
- Library
- University Centre
- All athletics and recreation facilities
- Athletics will be monitoring conditions and may reopen fitness and recreation facilities later today. Please visit the Fitness and Recreation website for updates and more information.
- Ontario Veterinary College clinics (emergency service is still available)
- All other campus buildings and labs
Remaining open for service are:
Residence service desks including:
- East (located in Dundas Hall)
- North (located in Lennox/Addington Hall)
- South (located in Prairie Hall)
Residence dining halls including:
- East residence
- Gordon Hall (Days Inn)
- LA/LA Starbucks
- Mountain Hall residence
- Prairie Hall residence
