WELLINGTON COUNTY – An investigation conducted by the Wellington County OPP, with the assistance of Guelph BEAT (Break Enter and Auto Theft) Unit, results in the seizure of almost $85,000 worth of illegal drugs and offence-related property.
On February 19, 2025, at approximately 4:45 p.m., the OPP CSCU conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle on 5th Line within Guelph-Eramosa Township, stemming from an extensive criminal investigation.
Police say the traffic stop resulted in one individual being taken into custody without incident. Police seized a quantity of suspected cocaine, methamphetamine, and other offence-related property.
The following day, OPP executed a search warrant on Argyll Street in Fergus and seized a quantity of suspected methylenedioxymethamphetamine, and other offence-related property.
The estimated street value of the illicit drugs is approximately $85,000, and other property estimated value to be $4,000.

As a result of the investigation, a 34-year-old Fergus male, has been arrested and charged under the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act (CDSA) with the following:
- Possession of a schedule 1 substance for the purpose of trafficking (three counts)
The accused was held in custody, pending a bail hearing, and has since been released and set to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice – Guelph on March 18, 2025.
