NEWS RELEASE WELLINGTON COUNTY OPP
(CENTRE WELLINGTON TWP, ON) – The Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) charges two individuals from Kitchener in relation to a traffic stop within Wellington County.
On February 20, 2025, at approximately 11:30 p.m., Wellington County OPP were conducting a proactive traffic enforcement initiative and initiated a traffic stop on Wellington Road 18 within Centre Wellington.
As a result of the investigation, a 20-year-old from Kitchener is charged under the Highway Traffic Act with:
- Careless Driving
- Drive – fail to properly wear seat belt
- Fail to use lower beam – following
The accused was also given a warning under the Highway Traffic Act for:
- Unnecessary noise
Additionally, a 23-year-old from Kitchener is charged under the Highway Traffic Act with:
- Passenger – fail to properly wear seat belt
