FERGUS – A new date has been set for a battery energy storage systems information session.
The meeting, postponed due to weather, will now take place Tuesday night from 6-7:30pm in the Wellington County Museum and Archives at the Aboyne Hall.
Residents can learn about a battery energy storage system and its role in creating a safer energy future, and participate in a roundtable discussion.
Aypa Power is planning a battery energy storage system south of Fergus, featuring 200 batteries, 64 inverters, and supporting infrastructure, an interconnection substation, a water reservoir, and a stormwater management facility.
It is expected to generate up to 211 MW of energy storage.
Construction is anticipated to begin in Fall 2025.
