ELORA – No injuries were reported after a one and a half story structure collapsed in the downtown area of Elora.
On Monday afternoon at around 3:15pm, Wellington County OPP and Centre Wellington Fire Rescue responded to a one and a half story structure suddenly collapsing within downtown Elora on Metcalfe Street.
In a news release, police say the structure was described as an aged, stone-like building that was neither residential nor commercial in nature and was attached to the Harold Chamberlain Park.
It was reported that when the abandoned structure had completely collapsed, there were no injuries reported.
OPP say total monetary loss has yet to be determined as a result of the structure collapsing and it’s being treated as non-suspicious at this time.
No roadways were impacted as a result of this event.
